Really, what did you expect?
I wrote last week this would happen, I wrote I wished it would not, but guess what? It did happen.
Barack Obama with all his tough talk did what he usually does to avert any confrontation, he caved.
Yes. He caved to all TAX CUTS and NO TAX REVENUE. In fact, most of the cuts will come off the backs of the many who support him, the many middle class, the many minorities, the many lower income, the many poor.
Yep, that is some damn change you can believe in, coming from that White House.
Everyone was pulling their hair out and gritting their teeth, yesterday, but all you had to do was watch David Plouffe on Meet the Press. When David Gregory said, "...it is not a fair deal...", all Plouffe could do was sit their grinning with the same old company line. In the end, Gregory was right, "it is not a fair deal".
I don't know what to think about the Obama Administration, but they have a lot of explaining to do to convince the public that cutting their Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid is good for them, while the Bush/Obama Tax Cuts remain in tact. In fact, let us be honest here, I doubt these tax cuts will EVER GET REPEALED, the same tax cuts that have Barack Obama in a funk right now about deficits. He did that to himself. So, if he is willing to throw us under the bus, does anyone actually have confidence that he will repeal the Bush/Obama Rich Folk Tax Cuts? Don't count on it.
I wrote a diary last week stating what would happen and of course the "usual suspects" arrived claiming that is not the intention of President Obama. Well, the "usual suspects" are not around here because they also understand the damage President Obama has done, not only to himself but to the Democratic Party. Who want to belong to a cheerleading club when there is nothing to cheer about? Not what happened yesterday, there is nothing to cheer about that deal. No one can make excuses for this one. We now see who, Barack Obama really is.
President Obama gave the Republican Party a pass. He nor the Democratic Party can say unequivocally that we will not cut Medicare. He will, he put it on the table along with Social Security and Medicaid. There will be cuts, there will be changes and these programs as we know it will not be any longer. Can't talk about the Paul Ryan Plan when this President just helped him and many like him get re-elected. That talking point is moot now.
In the end, this President will not stand up for anything. He will not fight for anything. But he will continue to ask for money, support and your time to get him re-elected. For me, he is not worth it, nor is any Democrat that votes for this bill. They will see payment at the ballot box next year and the GOP will remind voters who REALLY CUT THE BIG THREE, it wasn't them. Remember that.
