I'll be honest and state upfront that I am disappointed in how this contrived Debt Ceiling fiasco has played out and somehow I hope that it isn't as bad as I fear.  Regardless of how it plays out this situation should highlight that we've moved in to a new reality of governing in this country.

We no longer can say we have a model government because we now have brought hostage taking and terrorism into the mix.  This thanks to the supposed Tea Party or as I call them a convenient excuse for the GOP to be the monsters they really are and always have been.

Below are my thoughts about this mess and though I wish my first diary attempt had been more fact based I guess I'll go with thoughts and feelings.

I hope that President Obama and his advisors begin to comprehend that we're facing a new reality in regards to how our government now works or should I say doesn't work. The TPGOP has shown that they will no longer govern at all, they will not bargain in good faith, and most of all that they're not willing to be a part of any solution that doesn't benefit them 100%.

We're dealing with people that were willing and still may decide to tank the entire worlds economy over idealogy.  If the President thinks they Republicans will not try and create further problems through this Super Congress (I still think it's unconstitutional) approach then I don't have any faith that the man can deal with the reality that is swirling around him.

The TPGOP has begun a full scale war and they have had billionaires funding think tanks that have been planning this for decades.  When you have someone like Pete Peterson through his foundation blowing billions for the sole sake of causing the citizens of this country pain and suffering (and he isn't the only one) you have to understand that you are dealing with out and out sociopaths.  That sad thing is that Peterson is not alone and for every one we know about there are probably five more plotting of ways to kill off the middle class and do other harmful things.

When I use terms like terrorists and sociopaths to describe these people I used to think I had gone off the deep end to useless hyperbole.  But over the last few months I see people like Allen West, Demint, and others parading around with the goal of bringing this society, this world, to the reality of the Mad Max movies and I stop thinking I'm overreacting.  I guess Somalia is a great place because if the Tea Party has their way that's what we're headed.  I do remember from the movie "Black Hawk Down" that there are some nice beaches in Mogadishu so why can't all of them just move there if they love the idea of no functioning government so much?

Finally, I hope that the voters remember this fiasco and those that felt a need to cast votes for these Tea Party terrorists will come to their senses.  Given the short attention span of most Americans I'm not confident they will but then again; when things get personal people wake up and start paying attention.  This is going to start affecting even Tea Partiers and the pain might actually make them start thinking rationally...all I can do is hope.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

This is my first attempt at a diary so I think I'm doing this Tip Jar correctly.  I hope I got the tags correct too, got my fingers crossed!
