Looking at the economy and jobs numbers it made me think about what's the worst job you ever had and would you do it again if it was the only job you could get? You don't have to limit it to one, you mav have had more than one nasty or dirty job. Or was it just a really bad work environment?
When I was a youth I primed tobacco. Now what makes it a nasty job is twofold; 1) you often do this in the heat of August, 2) Due to what's called tobacco gum, you need to wear long sleeves and long pants in this heat.
I had another job where I had job where I had to crawl under houses' crawl space. And since it was a waterproofing job, these crawl spaces were often wet and muddy.
I also worked for Orkin as a salesman. Again this required crawling under houses or spending time in attics where temps can be above 1200 during the Summer and in Savannah you have to add humidity to that temp.
Of those jobs, the waterproofing job was made worthwhile due to the commission I was making. The down side to that job is when it stops raining, the opportunity to make money dries up. The Orkin job wasn't worth it.
As to the priming tobacco? You'd be lucky to find those jobs, there's not as muck tobacco grown domestically as there used to be. Plus, what there is, is seasonal, it mostly goes to migrant workers.
So how about you? What were your worst or nastiest jobs?
On with the games!!
Mojo Friday Guidelines
1) If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to receive mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
2) Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
3) You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
4) You don't have to comment to recommend.
5) You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
6) Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments. Now, after 300, use a little common courtesy and be responsible in the number.
7) Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo.
8) TexDem (that's me) is not bound by the guidelines. Heh
