Senator Jim DeMint (R. South Carolina, but ideologically the Confederate States of America) yesterday called the Obama adminstration anti-American.
DeMint: We saw within a few days that this President was going to be heavy-handed, he was going to implement his agenda and pay back his political allies, and it just went on from there to ObamaCare and then to Dodd-Frank.
It has been the most anti-business and I consider anti-American administration in my lifetime. Things that are just so anathema to the principles of freedom, and everything he has come up with centralizes more power in Washington, creates more socialist-style, collectivist policies. This president is doing something that’s so far out of the realm of anything Republicans ever did wrong, it’s hard to even imagine.
DeMint: Obama Administration The Most "Anti-American Administration In My Lifetime"
The radio broadcast where DeMint made the statements is at the link.
DeMint is fucking nuts, but I think people need to push back on this. DeMint is a racist oppressor of working people.
Barack Obama is a centrist with some progressive tendencies. He ain't no Marxist.
And he is a patriotic American who got Bin Laden.
It's time to push back against the Confederacy.
Like many people, I'm pissed off about austerity and many policies and tactical decisions by this President.
But in the end there are many reasons to vote for him next year.
No matter how frustrated left progressive are, spite is a good reason to vote for him. Spite against Republicans. Spite against the neo-Confederacy.
Even if the years after November 2012 are like the last few years under President Obama, and even if you (or me) are dissatisfied with those years, I am looking forward to the day after election day when people like DeMint's heads are exploding (metaphor) and they are screaming with pain knowing that Barack Obama is re-elected.
It's not a laudable reason, but it is a reason. Bring pain to the Republican Confederacy. That's enough for me.
Fuck you (Jefferson Davis) Jim DeMint.
