Got an email (update to his blog) from a long-time friend today. I've known this fellow since we were undergrads. Watched him: graduate with a PhD from MIT, create a successful consulting firm, become an active member of the Club for Growth, participate in some Tea Party events.
So, today's email posed the rhetorical question, "How mega-stupid does the left think we are?" The question was in response to the recent op-ed, "Stop Coddling the Super-Rich", from Warren Buffett and Paul Krugman's tongue-in-cheek comments about creating a faux space alien threat.
So, I got to thinking about how stupid I think "they" are. Disclaimer: don't know exactly who my friend included in the group under consideration, but I think it's safe to say he meant conservatives and, possibly, Republicans in general. I don't know who his horse is in the current race, but in October 2008 he was okay with the possibility of Sarah Palin's ascent to the presidency in the event the McCain/Palin team was victorious.
My immediate response to the question was: I think (fear) some of them are stupid enough to nominate and vote for Michele Bachmann for the most powerful position in the world just because she has an "R" after her name. Anyone who would accept/promote her elevation to the presidency isn't thinking very clearly (or doesn't remember "W").
So, how stupid do YOU think "they"" are?
