Gentlemen: to evil.

Gov. Chris Christie must be trying for some Worst Scum Ever Elected to Office award, because
there doesn't seem to be any end to his rancidness:
Under current federal law, health care providers must be reimbursed for collecting forensic evidence from a sexual assault victim. While all invoices for these services are supposed to go to the appropriate government agencies for review and payment, victims “frequently receive such invoices due to administrative errors or attempts to get payment from a victim’s insurance company.”
The New Jersey bill, which “overwhelmingly passed” both state chambers, would prohibit health care providers from sending those invoices directly to the victims. [...]
The state Senate approved the bill in late March, while the state Assembly passed it in late June. Gov. Chris Christie (R) has yet to sign the bill as it “remains under review by his office.” Christie has yet to personally address the matter, and “it’s not clear when Christie will act on the bill.”
Yes, let's "review" that. After all, maybe the free market really wants to insist that rape victims pay for their own forensic examinations—you know, just to add literal insult to literal injury. I'm sure Christie just wants to make sure some "undeserving" rape victims aren't taking advantage of government to get freeloading rape examinations when they instead should ... let's see, do what exactly? Is it that Christie thinks that maybe there will be fewer lawsuits if rape victims have to actually pay to get evidence collected? Is there some nuance to rape that Christie wants to make sure he fully contemplates, before he decides whether his state should follow federal laws prohibiting those victims from being billed? What exactly is Gov. Asshole's big problem here?
I really have to admire just how absolutely cruel these farthest-right Republican lawmakers revel in being. No "compassionate conservatism" here: There's no family too poor, no crime victim too abused, that they'll gain the slightest bit of sympathy from Christie as he helicopters his own entitled ass around the state.
I'm sure we all can't wait to hear what the big holdup is, here—what issue Chris Christie has with this entirely bipartisan bit of legislation that requires his office to "review" it for months. So by all means, Governor, feel free to let us all know what your problem is.
