I knew something bad would happen while I was writing this diary. It's my first diary since the big site change, and I finished the whole diary before quickly having everything deleted.
So, an abbreviated diary:
Tonight, Jon has Matt Long. Here's his biography, courtesy of The Daily Show's website:
Matt Long is the author, with Charles Butler, of "The Long Run: A New York City Firefighter's Triumphant Comeback from Crash Victim to Elite Athlete" (2010). A marathon runner, Ironman triathlete and firefighter, Long was bicycling to the New York City Fire Department's training academy when he was crushed and nearly killed by a charter bus making an illegal turn in 2005. A lengthy Runner's World profile in 2009 chronicled his triumphant return to training; despite 40 operations and the risk of paralysis, Long finished the 2008 New York City Marathon. He also established the I Will Foundation, which provides support, training and coaching to people recovering from traumatic injuries and life-altering illnesses.
It's an inspiring story, and for Jon it's probably a welcome distraction from all the economic analysts and authors he's had over the past few months.
Jon will also be discussing President Obama's bus tour, according to The Daily Show's Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Stephen will have the crew of the final American Space Shuttle program, STS-135. You can check out the biographies of all four crew members on that site. Commander Christopher Ferguson, Mission Specialist Sandra Magnus and Mission Specialist/Flight Engineer Rex Walheim were all on their third spaceflight, while Pilot Doug Hurley was on his second.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode, with guest Jeff Bridges. He has a new album coming out that I'm very interested to hear.
And a special thank you to ek hornbeck for providing the header and the video.
