In this week's bout of GOP faux-outrage, right-wing dipshits are decrying the fact that Pres. Obama is taking a bus ride in a bus made by Prevost, a Canadian manufacturer in Quebec. In fact, according to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus,
We don't believe that it is any coincidence that the president is embarking on this sham jobs tour in his Canadian bus
Of course it's no coincidence--those socialist assholes in Canada are really ruining this country with their bus and maple syrup industries.
But it turns out prominent Republicans have been running around in similar buses made for hockey teams (no, not this one), including George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, and even Michele Bachmann. Irony, anyone?
So George W. Bush hated America[-made buses]? Are you freaking kidding me?

I wonder if they bought it from KBR? |
No.
I'm not kidding. But apparently Mr. Preibus wasn't around for the "
Yes, America Can" bus tour. Probably because, back then, he was too busy losing a State Senate race while
out-raising his opponent by 3-1. Yeah, there's a winner to make your party chairman.
Wait a second, Docc, did you say Sarah Palin?
Yes. Sarah Palin. She of all that is good and mavericky.
Take a look at the "Going Rogue" bus photo posted by right-wing blogger "Death By 1000 Papercuts":

Republicans love a nice rear, apparently. |
Uh-huh, that's a Prevost
H3-45 VIP.
If you look closely, you'll notice that the second, white license plate says "Hemphill Brothers Coach." It just so happens, this is the same company that sold Obama his "Back Bacon Bus Force One."
If that's not enough, back in 2008, Palin's campaign jet was a Brazilian-made Embraer 190. I suppose she and fellow maverick John McCain simply wanted to stick it to Boeing's union workforce, right?
Michelle Bachmann? Et tu?

"Pay no attention to the bus. Look at my flag pin!" |
Yep. Turns out Ms. Gay-Fixer was seen as recently as last month
riding around Iowa in a Mountie-mobile:
Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann closed out the first week of her fight to garner the GOP nomination travelling through Iowa on an H3-45 Prevost tour bus registered to Johnny Williams – an Alabama company that specializes in political campaign bus tours.
I suppose we should be a bit more worried about whether the Congresswoman was planning the Second American Revolution from inside that bus, but hey, we didn't start this whole discussion.
But Obama's Canuck Truck is all pimped out, right? I bet Republicans would never ride in that sort of taxpayer-funded boat.
Well, actually, the Republican Nominee will be riding in an identical bus come September:
The vehicle was commissioned by the Secret Service, which has always hired buses for election campaigns and retrofitted them to provide suitable protection for presidents and rival party nominees.
But the Service decided to commission its own vehicles, reasoning that the initial total outlay of 2.2 million dollars for two buses would soon pay for itself over a projected 10-year lifespan.
"We have demonstrated the need for these buses going back to 1980," said Ed Donovan, a Secret Service spokesman, recalling the days when future president Ronald Reagan stormed the country by bus.
Each of the new buses will be available to Obama and the eventual Republican presidential nominee if required through the duration of the 2012 election season.
WTF?!? I swear, if Mitt Romney starts "ridin' dirty" in one of these hoopdies, I'm showing up to his campaign event with a maple leaf flag.
The point is this: The next time I hear a Republican bitch about where someone's bus/plane/car/mountain bike was manufactured, I'm going to ask them where their shoes were made. Then I'll ask them to shut up and use their foreign, America-hating transportation to walk the F away.
