Well, it takes a major act of God to shake up the disaster that awaits us on the Daily Show tonight. The erzatz spoiler kitty is here to explain that this guest is not a black panther. Grrrrrl.
Tonight's show is a repeat of 8/17 and the guest tonight is Michael Steele. You remember him.
Michael Steele served as the first African-American chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2009 to 2011, and is a political analyst for MSNBC. Steele was raised in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and co-founded the Republican Leadership Council, a political action committee, in 1993. In 2003 he became Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, the first African-American elected to statewide office there.
EK Hornbeck gave his take on this interview at the time:
Jon hosts Michael Steele. I'll attempt to stay awake and not ruin my keyboard with spit or my monitor with a brick.
I didn't see the episode so I'll have my "Practicing for Alzheimer's" moment and "Hey! It is a new show". From the comments, it appears that the episode is not worth mentioning. So here you go, Shakers....
Oh, wait, sorry, that was a You Tube of a 5.9 earthquake in California. Comments on the video included "I didn't feel it, man. I actually think I have had bigger orgasms." But for the east coast, it is something we will talk about for years and years. "Where were you when the Big One hit?"
Damage included the spire of the National Cathedral falling off. Why does the Lord strike the National Cathedral during Ramadan. Discuss.
Oh yeah and that Colbert fellow. Well, he has Ambassador Susan Rice who was on 8/15. From the comments in the thread, she will be gloating about our need to invade Libya. Given the events of the day, I suppose this is one of those "I told you so moments".
I missed this show as well so it'll be all new to me.
So I guess retirement will be great. Every day will be a new day. I won't remember shows even if I have seen them before.
Oh, shit, I have to write a diary on TDS/TCR. I better get started......
