Following an August 18th, 2011 broadcast of The Daily Show in which Jon Stewart cited a CIA Gini Index in which the United States ranked 64th in income inequality (worse than Cameron, but just above Uruguay), the CIA revised its data to place the United States in the much more admirable rank of #39.
In an August 18th, 2011 Broadcast of The Daily Show Jon Stewart says:
The United States of America is not a third world country by any measure; except, perhaps income inequality, where we rank....worse than The Ivory Coast... worse than Cameron...64th! In your face, Uruguay, Jamaica, and Uganda!
Conveniently, in an update posted before midnight on the same day, the CIA says
"August 18th, 2011- Data for many of the Economic Fields have been revised to reflect the most recent estimates."

Somehow, the United States' Gini Index score of 45 hasn't changed (at least from its 4-year old ranking) but its rank has been bumped up 25 places..
Perhaps the agency's downgrading of 25 other countries' Gini Index scores reflects the agency's sudden burst of enough intelligence to realize that 24 other countries really do have greater income inequality than The United States.
