Imagine that you're the president of a company. You work hard and diligently to plan, organize, lead and communicate the strategies you believe will achieve success for your company. One day, the CEO marches in and essentially tells you to 'nevermind,'--we're moving in another direction. Not only that, the new direction is the antithesis of what you've been doing and completely in opposition to the vision you've struggled to implement.
This scenario was played out today in Washington, DC. Lisa P. Jackson, the Administrator of the EPA was told, in effect, by her boss, President Obama, to 'nevermind.'

If you're Lisa P. Jackson, you've spent that several years telling Congress, American citizens, US businesses, Foreign governments and your own employees that clean air is an imperative, that it is good for business, that it is good for all Americans and those in foreign nations. You've testified under oath, you've given more speeches and talks than you can remember.
But now your President has completely undercut you. Basically told you it doesn't matter and undermined your credibility.
What do you really have to gain by staying in office, Ms. Jackson?
