And on his Blog, this Environmentally-concerned ex-VP of the USA, has a few thoughts about Dirty Energy project, otherwise known as Keystone XL:
The Dirtiest Fuel on the Planet
Al Gore -- August 31, 2011
[...]
The tar sands are the dirtiest source of fuel on the planet. As I wrote in Our Choice two years ago, gasoline made from the tar sands gives a Toyota Prius the same impact on climate as a Hummer using gasoline made from oil. This pipeline would be an enormous mistake [Keystone XL].
The answer to our climate, energy and economic challenges does not lie in burning more dirty fossil fuels -- instead, we must continue to press for much more rapid development of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies and cuts in the pollution that causes global warming.
THAT -- is what a Pro-Environmental person says ...
Al Gore has a Blog ... who knew?
and on that Blog's Home Page: blog.algore.com
Al highly recommends the following:
Congratulations Joe Romm
August 31, 2011
Joe Romm’s indispensible blog Climate Progress turned five this week. During that time it has been on the front lines fighting climate deniers and misinformation in media.
If Joe’s blog isn’t on your must read list, it should be.
Here's the Joe Romm post, on Al's "Recommended" list:
Climate Progress at Five Years: Why I Blog
by Joe Romm, thinkprogress.org -- Aug 28, 2011
I joined the new media because the old media have failed us. They have utterly failed to force us to face unpleasant facts (see here).
What I have learned most from the success of my blog, from the rapid growth in subscribers and visitors and comments, along with the increasing number of websites that link to or reprint my posts, is that there is in fact a great hunger out there for the bluntest possible talk.
It is a hunger to learn the truth about the dire nature of our energy and climate situation, about the grave threat to our children and future generations, about the vast but still achievable scale of the solutions, about the forces in politics and media that impede action -- a hunger to face unpleasant facts head on.
[...]
Are you hungry for such truth?
Or have you had "enough truth" for now, and you could take it or leave it -- with more truth?
Al Gore has one of those "New Media" Television Channels ... who knew?
And on that Channel, his top commentator just recently interviewed Joe Romm, for some of that blunt Environmental Insight, about the latest Non-Protecting, happening down at the EPA:
Joe Romm says Obama's hold on smog reform worse than Bush administration
Keith Olbermann, Countdown, CurrentTV -- September 2, 2011
"This is worse than what the Bush administration wanted to do on air pollution," Romm says.
Worse than W?
That's kind of blunt, don't you think, Mr Romm?
Shhh! don't stir up a hornet's nest, now.
You could upset the "Grand Plan" that the current Administration, has on its back burners.
What Plan is that? Well that's one good question. WHAT is their Plan?
Nevermind, how about some, nice Pie ???
