My very first video, a slide show to accompany the song, "Hey Tony," has marked me as interested in the Deepwater Horizon explosion and "spill." Because of this, almost every time I look in on one of my babies to see how the hits are (or aren't) coming, the "sponsored" video topping the right-column "related" videos is often from BP's YouTube channel.
I was struck by today's sunny submission from our happy, profitable polluters, available for your consideration below the whatever that thing is.
See? People are at the beach. With kids and everything. So glad "we got that settled."
The funny bit (depending on your sense of humor) was the non-sponsored video in line just below BP's commercial, an off-the-set take from a Gulf Shores local newscast highlighting an unwelcome visitor to the Alabama coast this holiday weekend:
So, vacationers, come on down to the world premiere vacation spot. Bring the kids. Enjoy our renowned seafood.
Just don't forget to wipe your feet real good before heading back to the hotel. Housekeeping frowns upon tar in the carpet.
