What Are You Working On is a community diary series for all things crafty and artsy, in a variety of mediums and techniques.
You may volunteer to guest host by joining this yahoo group, which I check from time to time. Also by joining this group, you will receive one email a week when the diary is posted. You may also volunteer to host by posting a comment in this diary.
If you click on the WAYWO group, there is a box for the group about 4 boxes down on the right hand side. If you click on the heart in this box, you will "follow" this group and the diary will appear in your "stream."
It's been a bit of a rough week - future X has had the kids for 3 weekends in a row, (I did get them for a couple days of Labor Day weekend). Remembering when future X left me about a year ago, and when my Dad was getting worse from the cancer a year ago, too. And this 9/11 stuff.
So I knit. And knit. More and more. To save my soul and heart and brain.
I have a new knitting book of little toys. (At Amazon, you can look at the pages.)
I kept telling myself to finish this hat, or get to a goal on other things I am working on.
Thursday night, though, I just sat down for the football game and knitted my alien. For therapy.
I used Caron Simply Soft Party in Spring, because it has sparkles. The shiny antennae are a strand from Red Heart Boutique Changes - the sparkly part was the beginning of the yarn, and I didn't want to start the new scarf with the ruff stuff. Sparkly is not soft. I was finished mid-way through the 3rd quarter, so it went really fast. It took as much time to finish all the little parts as it did to knit the whole body. I am still so tickled with him, and I named him Roz.
Today I bought DK and sock yarn for a family. ;-)
Meanwhile, first lace shawl is in the first row of the half-way repeat:
I know it has been a long time since I started this:
