I felt that I needed to join this boycott because of a larger issue of racism in our world, but I don't think it really makes that point.
The larger issue at hand has to do with very few people bullying those who don't agree with them. It's not complicated.
I've witnessed it.
I have decided that boycotting Daily Kos is not the answer and that in fact, I did it for the wrong reasons. I've hurt people who have been bullied by certain users, called racists, and much worse.
I don't feel that in breaking this boycott it means I am betraying anyone nor supporting racism anywhere. People were punished for abusive behavior, that's it. There is evidence here and here.
I found my voice here many years ago, I feel like I've lost it and am not comfortable at times using it. I just haven't felt at home for a while.
Our Country is falling apart, literally.

Bridges, roads, etc. are crumbling before our very eyes and our battles need to be about fighting our own party to back this President's jobs bill. Democrats are balking at its size.
Democrats.
SOME DEMOCRATS BALKING AT JOBS BILL.
I cannot be silent.
WASHINGTON — President Obama anticipated Republican resistance to his jobs program, but he is now meeting increasing pushback from his own party. Many Congressional Democrats, smarting from the fallout over the 2009 stimulus bill, say there is little chance they will be able to support the bill as a single entity, citing an array of elements they cannot abide.
“I think the American people are very skeptical of big pieces of legislation,” Senator Bob Casey, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, said in an interview Wednesday, joining a growing chorus of Democrats who prefer an à la carte version of the bill despite White House resistance to that approach. “For that reason alone I think we should break it up.”
Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, has said he will put the bill on the legislative calendar but has declined to say when. He almost certainly will push the bill — which Mr. Obama urged Congress to pass “right now!” — until after his chamber’s recess at the end of the month; Mr. Reid has set votes on disaster aid, extensions for the Federal Aviation Administration and a short-term spending plan ahead of the jobs bill.
Isn't this the time to say, "GO BIG OR GO HOME."
I cannot be silent. I will not.
I am tired of not being Angry about what I see around me, it is about just how wrong Democrats are, and yes, sometimes that Democrat happens to be Obama.
Republicans are taking us in the wrong direction, I want to fight for the party I still support, but I want to fight from HERE with my voice and I want to feel safe to do so. I want to thank Kos for his great diary on how to behave in other people's diaries, I think that's a good starting point for many. Go read it, think about how you behave and rethink what you do if you are often hidden. I can't remember the last time I received a h/r and when I do, I actually talk to people about it rather than hurl insults back at them.
I want to write more, explain myself. But this is pretty to the point for me. I truly believe that people have good intentions and I want to continue to believe this of my fellow kossack. Love moves things much further than hate.
