A lot of us hoped at least one of the Republican presidential candidates would show some leadership and speak out against the idiots who booed gay soldier Stephen Hill at Thursday night's Republican presidential debate. Well, yesterday, Rick Santorum finally spoke up.
Good for Santorum. It would have been even better had he also called for his compatriots on the ballot to join him in condemning this behavior. Though one would think that Perry, Romney and friends shouldn't need to be prodded into speaking out on this.
Update: I initially thought Santorum was showing some leadership--a big step for a winger. But according to at least two commenters, Jon Huntsman apparently heard it. Looks like Santorum was simply trying to close the barn door after the horse already escaped.
