This must stop. This has to STOP Right Now
Peaceful Demonstrators, exercising their duly protected First Amendment Rights to Freely Assemble, to Speak their Minds and to Petition their Government Have Been Assaulted.
If they were Tea Partiers, funded, organized and propagandized by the Koch Brothers through Americans For Prosperity, even word they said, every move they made would be beamed into our homes 24/7 Non-Stop.
If they were Tea Partiers being Assaulted - their heads slammed into a parked Car for daring to video-tape the actions of police, or randomly pepper sprayed - this would be the lead story on every network.
But they aren't members of the Tea Party.
They don't demand that we get our Government Hands OFF Their Medicare. They aren't demanding that Moran's Get a Brain.
They make sense.
For the last Ten Days they've been ignored. But no longer. Now they're beginning to be Fought. If this keeps up, next they'll be #Winning.
And what will the media say then? Certainly not as much as Keith did tonight as he interviewed on of the Pepper-sprayed Protestors and covered this story in a way that no other American Media has, or will.
Link to Video.
If you listen carefully, behind the screams of pain from the innocent victims who are being pepper sprayed - you can hear the chant from the crowd.
"Shame... shame...Shame... Shame..SHAME!!"
Ok, I've just finished a review all the rest of the "Left Wing Media" for reports on this. Never mind CNN, I don't watch them anyway - but I'm frankly flabbergasted that Rachel Didn't Cover This Story Tonight.
As much as he's done about the protests in Wisconsin against the rise of Fitzwalkerstan - ED SCHULTZ Didn't Cover this Story.
Lawrence O'Donnell Did cover this story - kind of. He actually discussed the issue of how Police Brutality such as this probably won't be investigated and probably won't result in any real action taken and makes a great point that this should be shocking, just as the original video of the Rodney King Beating was Shocking and Galvanizing... but it probably won't be.
He even provides better video of the pepper spray attack than Olbermann does, but oddly - surreally - he does so Without Mentioning Exactly What Protest Is Taking Place, What City the Event Occurred In, Which Police Force or Which City was Involved.
Yes, he does admit that this was a protest against "Wall Street Greed" - but he never says the words "#OccupyWallStreet". He never mentions that this wasn't a one-day protest, that it has in fact been going on for the last week and half and growing steam as it does just as the Demonstrations to fight to preserve Collective Bargaining Rights in Wisconsin and Ohio and Michigan have grown, leading to historic Recall Elections and Referendems He talks about the police - but he doesn't say anything about the demonstrators. And that's just plain wrong.
It's frankly stunning.
"We're not doing anything", Lawrence says quoting one of the protestors as they're grabbed?
Not Doing Anything?
Like HELL they weren't "Doing Anything!". They were standing up to Wall Street. The exact thing that the Tea Party has FAILED TO DO FOR TWO YEARS. Oh sure, they complain about the spending, they complain about the "Bailouts", but they don't do a damn thing to show their frustration and anger to the people who Took our Fracking Money.
And they're still taking our money, by the truck load.
Instead they cheer when they hear that Government Jobs, Teachers, Firefighters and Policemen have been cut. They cheer when someone talks about a 30 year-old dying for lack of health care. They cheer someon says they'd like to execute more people, even if those people may have been innocent of the crimes they've been charged. They Boo when a U.S. Soldier in Iraq speaks, simply because he dares to openly admit that he's gay.
The point here has clearly been missed. The way that that Corporate Feudalism grows is when the shock-troops of conformity begin to use terrorism and violence to the populace who has the temerity to actually use the rights they've been (allegedly) guaranteed under the Constitution.
We saw this 100 years ago as the Pinkertons used violence and terrorism to put down Labor Strikes designed to protect the lives of exploited workers.
Yes, we saw this during the 60's as the non-violent black and white protestors marched arm-in-arm into the wave of dogs and firehoses for the right to vote. The right to sit at a lunch counter next to a fellow American of a different race.
We've seen this before, we'll see it again.
For his clear and deliberate Lie of Omission by failing to explain who these people are and what exactly they are protesting -which is the ongoing Multi-$Trillion RAPE OF AMERICAN RESOURCES by Monied interested who now own our politics, and clearly own our Media including all of MSNBC, and CNN, and FOX - Lawrence deserves our Scorn for his massive, abject, FAILURE.
And all I can say to Lawrence, Rachel, Ed and the rest of the our "Media" for failing to completely and accurately cover this story, is "Shame...Shame...SHAME...SHAME!!!".
