This is another in a short series (here's the previous one and the first one) of "linky" diaries that are composed of material that at one point I thought might lead to "real" diaries. Then, for various reasons, I ended up not writing them. I'm tired of the browser tabs that I've left open with them taking up so much space, so ... here they go. My Chrome is (for now) down to a manageable 30 tabs. (And only six of them are Daily Kos!)
Enjoy -- and, to my fellow tribe members, L'Shana Tovah!
Live-blogging: Today’s [9/6] CA Supreme Court hearing on standing in the Prop 8 (Perry) case. (Don't be disappointed by the result on the procedural question at issue; I think that they have standing, I suspect that the Court thinks that they do too, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ted Olsen himself actually agreed.)
Evans' in-your-face style makes waves in legislature. (Hey, anyone ever wonder if there still might be sexism in the California legislature? Check out this "prank.")
Political Shift in California Trips Brown. (Jerry Brown gives good story.)
Jury finds 10 of 'Irvine 11' guilty of misdemeanors: Defendants face up to 6 months in prison and a fine for disrupting a speech by ambassador Michael Oren at UC Irvine. (Link to conservative publication sent to me by a gloater.)
Democrats scramble to replace cash. More follow-up on the Kinde Durkee scandal, which is too depressing to write about. By the way, if anyone needs representation to get their money back, I know a brilliant CA Dem lawyer (not me, not a partner, etc.) who is in this very business.
[CA] Congressional candidates line up backers in already hot races. Can't tell the gladiators without a scorecard!
And last (and possibly least): This is for anyone who wants more information on Carly Foulkes, the T-Mobile "party-dress girl". There is a political angle here that may still come to fruition if and when I figure out a way to Photoshop Mitt Romney into that dress (on the "he'll do anything to make people like him" premise.) Anyone so disposed, please feel free to steal this idea.
