It is only the beginning. I feel fortunate to be living in Chicago at this really important time in the future of the United States. It's interesting to see the Wall street crowds drinking champagne and enjoying the show.
The rich in this country have to be wondering what is happening. It was never like this, and now they are standing up and objecting to the way they are being treated. Maybe just maybe we have gone too far. Occupy Wall Street is the beginning of something huge. I do believe the Democratic base is waking up a little more each day and the Republican base is angered at the people that they voted for.
This is something that the beltway media will not be able to ignore for long. I am willing to bet that they will present it as a distraction to the financial district. I am encouraged by the fact that the police for the most part are realizing that they are part of the 99% of the people that are being oppressed.
Since this is my first diary on Daily Kos I will keep it short and to the point. My frustrations are many when it comes to how the middle class and the poor are being treated in this nation. I just finished Michael Moore's Book "Here Comes Trouble" and it is truly a picture into my past as Michael is 3 years older than I am. If you want to get a picture of how the country was back in the 60's and 70's this is a book for you...
To see Michael Moore in New York at Occupy Wall Street was extremely encouraging to me. Here is his interview with Lawerence O'Donnel. I am going to leave it there for now.
I am looking forward to being part of the solution.
