Well F.O.O., after a day full of meetings that went longer than planned & a morning full of grading, and some other "stuff" that happened out of the blue that I just don't have the energy to go into here tonight, I had absolutely no time for "proper" diary prep.
So, I'll throw in some "this day in history" items in comments, and y'all are welcome to do the same if you'd like.
Let's Countdown...
Oh good golly, Keith is sans tie again. He really needs to stop spilling whatever he keeps spilling on his ties all the damn time now! :)
#5 "On Board" AKA "Leftward Ho!" - The union of airline pilots threw their support behind the Occupy Wall Street protestors last night; the New York City transit folk followed suit tonight. Next on the list could be teachers & autoworkers! Wow, I hope some Kochtopus & GOBP ilk are getting heart palpitations now! The Manhattan DA is now going to investigate this past weekend's macing. Dr. Cornel West has begun to join the protestors now, too. The Occupy Wall Street folk intend to stick it out as long as they can. Errol Louis, NYC political anchor & host of "Inside City Hall," is in studio to talk about protestor efforts. The investigation of Inspector Baloney could prove to be darn darn interesting! In a sick sense, the Occupy Wall Street protestors have the NYPD to thank for their hateful horrible actions last weekend for the increase in media coverage. So far, union participation has been fairly predictable; if other unions get involved, we're looking at a different game here. Senator Bernie Sanders gets to give his take on the Occupy Wall Street efforts & the possibility of an actual active cohesive "left" to counter the bat$hitters. I could SO SEE Senator Sanders in NYC, but I'd be concerned for his safety. He likes this spotlight shown on Wall Street! ;D Institutions that were too big to fail got bigger after the bailout. Nice work if you can get it! *&^%$#@! Senator Sanders wants the Occupy Wall Street folk to reach out to the middle class, the "working class," etc. Occupy Wall Street is heading to the nation's capitol, too!
#4 "Poor House" AKA "Cold Cuts" - The House GOBP wants to cut Pell Grants, heating assistance, job training programs, etc. Don't y'all just get the warm & fuzzies reading about that? Give me your uneducated, cold, and unemployed, indeed! I don't think the Statue of Liberty says that, but we got that from Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys, so it doesn't matter. The GOBP are reaching also into the defunding HCR, NPR, and Planned Parenthood since it worked so well the first time. How 'bout that Pew poll that indicates most people think the GOBP favors the "have - nots" by a whopping 7%?! That's not just a "F," boys & girls; that is a LOW "F"! Me thinks a whole mess of these GOBP saw lots of "low Fs" in their academic careers. Keith mentioned President Obama "fared slightly better"; I'm not sure about that. 29% is more than 3 times higher than GOBP stats by my admittedly - weak skills at teh math, but 29% is still a pretty damn low "F"! Rep. Maxine Waters gets to talk "haves" & "have - nots." Tea baggers don't even like these plans? $HIT! Rep. Waters ain't exactly thrilled with a lot of her fellow Dems, either, for their actions (or lack thereof) in these areas. She thinks the Occupy Wall Street - type efforts are going to grow.
"Time Marches On!" - IT'S IAN MCSHANE'S BIRTHDAY TODAY???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND, HE'S A COUNTDOWN VIEWER??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, I think I wanna have his baby, now. ;D AAAaaaaaaWWWWwwww!! Look at the 2 little baby bears! HEY MR. KEITH, ya' know the great thing about being a Cubs fan is that we very very very very VERY rarely have to go through the heartbreak of a collapse of biblical proportions a couple of teams you've been rooting for & other fans have gone through for the past 24 hours; we are put out of our misery long before now, so {insert Bronx raspberry here} AND {insert assorted Al Swearingen profanities here}! ;D A guy in China dropped his daughter going after a foul ball, and her Mom DID NOT look happy. A monkey riding a mountain goat walked across a wire and...OK, some of this $hit is slightly on the unbelievable side. I mean, mountain goats are damn nimble but DAMN!
#3 "Guilty Until Proven Guilty" AKA "They Have a List" - Ain't nothin' gonna get you off that FBI terror watch list, so don't even try. Wasn't Ted Kennedy & Nelson Mandela on the thing for a good long time? Besides, I've said before I'm probably on someone's list somewhere; it's not so bad once you get used to it! :) I must be even more jaded than I used to be because this news so does not surprise me. Lawyer Ginger McCall gets list duty; law enforcement peeps can't even tell people who are on the list they are on the damn list because it is "federal property." Keith & Ms. McCall are expecting THIS CONGRESS to do anything about this $hit? They couldn't/wouldn't/didn't do anything in the previous administration nor when this administration had "super" majorities IN Congress. So, don't be holding your breath on "oversight" and "transparency."
WPITW - BillO ain't exactly a policy wonk. ;D A MI state rep has authored a lovely piece of legislation; any teacher who conducts "union or political business" via their school email will be fined or spend up to a year in jail. Do we need to pay for a drug test for this "gentleman," too? Rep. Alan West said President Obama is a socialist Marxist Kenyan Nazi AntiChrist. Uh Keith, since when is that ilk coming out of HIS pie hole news?
#1 "Wild Wildcard" - I gave just a few of my baseball thoughts above; I can repeat them if y'all would like! Once again, I remind y'all that the Cubs suck on purpose because if they were to reach the World Series or (for spark's sake) WIN the World Series, that would be a sign of the end times, and they are unselfish enough to put this planet through all that. So, a great deal of gratitude is due the Cubs, thank y'all very much! Richard Justice gets playoff duty.
