You might not be able to make it down to Wall Street, but you can tell the White House you're sick and tired of the way financial institutions have been ruining this country -- that you're mad as hell and you're not going to take it any more. Here's several petitions related to financial and economic matters at 'We The People' that, with your help, we'll force the Administration to respond to:
Anyone can sign up and create a petition. Once your petition gets 150 signatures it becomes visible to the world; until then, you have to advertise the URL for it yourself to your activist friends (that's you).
Speaking of economic and fiscal disasters...
I now have 59 signatures on my petition at 'We The People' to have the Administration halt military operations and withdraw all combat forces from Afghanistan by October 1, 2012. That's $100 billion a year in fiscal folly.
If I can get just 91 more signatures the petition will become visible to the world at large. If it then reaches that magin 5000 threshold, which I find likely given the subject matter, the Administration will issue a formal response.
If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will review it, make sure it gets to the appropriate policy officials, and issue an official response.
There isn't a single petition that has to do with the Afghanistan War or Defense spending in general -- one of the biggest outlays of the Federal Government -- that is visible at this time. Talk about economic effects!
While you're sending a message to the White House about Wall Street and the economic mess we're in, if you think my petition makes sense, please sign it too.
Other Kossacks and I have created a bunch of other petitions you might be interested in signing. Once you're logged in to the site, it's very easy to sign petitions, bang, bang, one after another. Below is a list of all the petitions I know about created by other Kossacks and myself.
All Kossack-initiated Petitions I Know About.
If there are more Kossack-initiated petitions please let me know and I will add them to the list.
You can read more about the new Kossack Initiated White House Petitions group's efforts to get some serious, actionable, progressive petitions front-and-center on the We The People site to draw the Administration's attention to and to get a response from.
