You probably saw the FBI press conference when they spoke of a woman who was able to knock the magazine out of Loughner's hands when he was trying to reload. The first reports, and what was mentinoned during the conference was that the woman had been shot herself. That has since turned out not to be true.
Her name is Patricia Maisch. The Sydney Morning Herald has more.
As he tried to insert a new magazine into the weapons, 61-year-old Patricia Maisch lunged forward and grabbed it out of his hands, said Pima County sheriff Clarence Dupnik.
"This is one of the most heroic acts I've ever seen," he said in an interview with Fox News.
"This lady was standing in line to have her picture taken with Gabrielle when all hell broke loose," he said.
"For whatever reason, she decided something had to be done. She came out of line and tackled the magazine and the gun this guy was holding," he said.
"She might have saved many, many lives."
Holy crap! I think most of us would like to think we would react like she did if faced with a similar situation but I hope to never have that tested.
The names of the other two men who tackled Loughner have also been given to the press.
The two men who were Roger Sulzgeber, who was third in line standing with his wife, and Joseph Zimudie, who was in the Walgreens and came out to find the shooting.

I hope the three of them not only get the recognition they deserve, but the help they are going to need to get over this when all the media leave and they need to get on with their lives.
UPDATE
Thanks to tiggers thotful spot, who posted a link that named the 4th man the media is talking about as being responsible for ending this horrible situation before more people were hurt.
Dupnik identified the heroes as Patricia Maisch, Roger Salzgeber, Bill Badger and Joseph Zamudio.
