White House Press Secretary Jay Carney mocked House Speaker John Boehner's claim
that GOP is "legislating" while Obama is "campaigning" (Jason Reed and Yuri Gripas/Reuters)
John Boehner:
Nothing has disappointed me more than what has happened in the last five weeks. [...] To watch the president of the United States give up on governing, give up on leading and just spend time campaigning. We're legislating. He's campaigning. It's very disappointing.
Yeah, uh, except that the thing that President Obama is campaigning for ... is for Republicans to get to work and pass a damn jobs bill! As Jay Carney asked on Twitter:
Dear Mr. Speaker: you refuse to hold a vote on the Jobs Act, a mainstream bill that would boost economy & jobs now. That's legislating?
Fact is, President Obama hasn't just urged Congressional Republicans to get off their collective behinds and pass a jobs bill, he's gone the extra mile, and written the legislation for them. And they won't even vote on it.
