Paul Krugman's column Confronting the Malefactors starts with "There’s something happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear." It brought back memories of For What It's Worth.
I also loved Crosby Stills Nash and Youg's version below
Of course this is not the sixties. But the similarities are there. We are seeing a mass movement to change the US and the world to a better place. In the sixties we were marginalized as Dirty Fucking Hippies and many of us wear that label as a badge of honor for having been there.
One difference is that this change will not be marginalized. The 99% group has marginalized the "not so silent" minority. The 99% not only represent the majority of us all, but almost all of us. How long occupy wall street will last, no one knows. But, if it ends the demonstrations will continue until there is change.
There are still two directions the change can go. President Obama and we democrats can fail the test much as LBJ and democrats did and Republicans can con the ignorant much as Richard Nixon did with his secret plan to end the war.
The 2012 elections will determine the fate of the country and perhaps the world. We must not fail.
