I was going to try to pull together a discussion of Obama and HAMP, and my realization that Obama was Just Another Oligarch.

Then Yves Smith did it for me.

Daily Kos discussion of the article, and others in the same vein, here.

This diary is mostly for my benefit, so I can find this stuff easily later, but feel free to dogpile me and call me a racist and such, if that's your cup of tea.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

....those who disagree with me are going to call me a racist.

You don't see the irony there?

I was engaging in a bit of historical hyperbole; the Obama Warriors have mostly cut that shit out after the banhammer came down.

Of course, they still think it, so it's funny to point and mock.

Now, I'm the villain and you're constantly being pursued by those whose minds you've read.

        Excellent.

I'll be leaving you to your diary now. Best wishes.

I don't actually care very much what the Obama Warriors think.  They just have different values from me, and either they'll come around eventually, or they won't.  There's plenty of time.

Why not stop calling them "Obama Warriors"?

            •  Because "Obama supporters" (0+ / 0-)

refers to a different, larger group of people.  There are folks who support Obama because they are confused about his oligarchic leanings or because they think he's the best this country can do.  I disagree with those folks, but they're fine.

I'm referring to the folks who patrol dKos, start pie fights, and randomly accuse some people who are critical of Obama of being racist.  The Obama/Congressional Black Caucus slapfight was particularly hilarious in that light, because of course they were cheering Obama on as he projected his failures onto the CBC.

                •  Separately, (0+ / 0-)

how the shit is "Obama Warrior" meaningfully an insult?  It fairly transparently means, "Person who is devoted to the cause of Obama and who is willing to work and even fight to support that cause."

It's only because Obama is so unworthy of such support that the phrase is insulting.  And that's my damn point.

This diary is bizarre. Why would you think people would accuse you of racism? And now this comment about "Obama Warriors". Whats ironic is even if you could make some type of link between whatever point you're trying to make in this diary with an expected reaction from "Obama Warriors", you acknowledge that "the shit" has been cut out "after the ban hammer came down".

But, in an earlier comment today, in response to someone asking what happened to civil discourse on DailyKOS, you said this:

        The boycotters came back.
        That's what happened.

        http://www.dailykos.com/...

The boycotters boycotted to raise awareness of racism on DailyKOS. What boycotters have to do with uncivil discourse is mind-boggling. But somehow, in your mind, boycotting racism equals uncivil discourse. And now, this bizarrely preemptive diary with respect to you being called a racist.

Me thinks you doth protest too much. And I hope you get all the donuts you deserve.

        •  The boycotters boycotted (0+ / 0-)

to conflate criticism of Obama with racism.  It didn't work, and then it ended.

So I never know how to take these pie responses -- does that mean that you agree with the Obama As Oligarch critiques, but you want to enjoy ad hominem attacks as a method of distracting from them?  Or is that you disagree with them, but have no particular support for you views?

I'm absolutely confident you can't support that claim.

You should stop with this type of BS. Markos made it clear his actions were arbitrary and capricious. Those were his words. He was right. Because clearly he missed you.

there is no evidence Obama likes, wants, or helps banksters getting their way.  His moment of truth came in 08 when he voted for TARP--the banks CAN take down the world economy still.

He is holding an electric eel--slippery and deadly.

My best guess was a reflection that did not look back, an image lost in every mirror.
