Should the Democratic Party "take advantage" of #Occupy Wall Street? Absolutely. They are on the right side of the argument and it is an argument that has being going on silently for the last 30 years. Class warfare is only bad when the poor fight back. That fight needs to be effective.
If even 10% of the demands of #Occupy are going to be met it will take the reelection of President Obama and a Democratic Congress. Both a House and a Senate.
In 2010 the Country elected Teabaggers to "cut spending", the US and the World economy got spending cuts.
In 2012 you have the ability to undo that. America, more than anywhere else has the ability to reject the "austerity" agenda. IF those who protest at #Occupty demonstrations get involved that agenda can be destroyed. Action means nothing unless it is linked to a Party. The "Tea Party" knows that. They will never work to defeat a Rethug, even one they consider RINO. Will #Occupy work to elect more and better Democratic candidates?
#Occupy is the answer to the Tea Party but it must not become a part of the DNC. The Paultards allowed the Tea Party to be a wholly owned subsidiary of the GOP. They are now an irrelevance everywhere except Congress. That is still a pretty powerful irrelevance. It must be allowed to grow as a voice for progressive America. An angry vociferous presence more powerful than the astro-turfed teabaggers.
If you want to pass a public option and fight the cuts agenda, you have your vehicle. Support it, work with it - make it powerful.
#Occupy is finally the embodiment of yes we can, rather than well yes it may be difficult so I will give up. It is a rejection of the 30 years worth of messaging that government is useless. It can be used to create a new energy in the left of America, or it can be ignored and as a result Koch and Noquist win.
