In case you missed it, the
Values Voters Summit was held last weekend in Washington and
it was "the premiere conservative event in the country ... that will feature many of the leading conservative voices ... that will feature sessions on this year's hottest topics ..."
And the hype about the leading conservative voices was spot-on. It was a veritable who's who of Republican politicians and pundits. So, what was hot, hot, hot at this gathering of the self-described arbiters of values in America?
- Mormonism: cult or Christian religion?
- Who is the most anti of the anti-choicers?
- Do good morals mean a good economy?
That about covers it. Oh, except for the exciting news—or perhaps more accurately—the revelation that singing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch at Major League Baseball games prevented another 9/11.
So, meanwhile, back on Planet Reality, what do voters consistently say is their number one priority?
Jobs.
A priority that Republicans don't value at all.
