"Occupy"ers are still "occupy"ing all over the country - often at the risk of great harm to themselves. Those in the law enforcement community or others seeking to harm those utilizing their Constitutional right should remember this; now, more than ever, THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING.
Let's move to "this day in history." On October 11, 1884, Eleanor Roosevelt, the American first lady, social reformer, diplomat and author, was born. Does Hillary Clinton still have "visions" of her today, or was that just a FIL thing? ;D On this date in 1975, Saturday Night Live made its debut on NBC. Guess who the host was?! :D
Let's Countdown...
Strawberry daiquiri is in hand, and we've got Countdown; life sucks a little less right at this moment! :D And, Keith's back to the tie - less & slightly geekier glasses look tonight. Yea, that monkey suit from last night probably wasn't real comfortable. ;D
#5 "Occupy Wall Street" AKA "On the March" The "Occupy"ers today were in Pirate Rupert's & 1 of the Kochtopus' neighborhood today when they marched along Park Avenue. NPR this afternoon said the line was nearly a mile long! An overnight raid in Boston didn't end well. 6 were arrested at the Senate building today in DC. Well, SOMEONE needs to smack the living $hit outta our Senate! What happened to all those rule changes that were supposed to make things better?! Yea, I never thought they'd happen, either. According to a Washington Post poll, 53% OF THE GOBP want taxes raised on households earning over $250K/year! I wonder if that will be brought up in tonight's MENSA meeting at Dartmouth College? Veterans were pushed to the ground in Boston last night/this morning. Yea, push people to the ground who probably know how to kill you with 1 hand tied behind their backs! There are Occupy efforts in approximately 250 cities. :) Michael Kink was part of today's "millionaire march." Today's millionaire march even featured a marching band - yea band! :D Stephen Squibb was running the live - stream video of what happened in Boston. He had an "on high" view of what happened. The director of the National Lawyers Guild was 1 of those arrested last night; Mr. Squibb took care to mention that no one was "blaming" the police. Media was told to leave by cops because their "safety couldn't be guaranteed." The main site of Occupy Boston is still intact, and they will continue.
#4 "Street Fighters" AKA "The Frightened Right" - "Conservatives" still can't figure out how to insult the Occupy efforts all over the country. Mittens Romney has flip - flopped on the issue? WHAT?! I never thought he had that in him. ;D TurdBlossom absolutely positively DOES NOT want them mentioned with tea baggers in any way, shape, or form. And, Lonesome Rhodes is being...well...Lonesome Rhodes. ;D Rep. Cantor won't repeat or renounce what he called these people last week. Our Great Orange Satanic Leader has obviously not gotten the no - tie memo. :) The corporate Wall Street money that owns DC & the GOBP are awfully very out of touch with GOBP outside of "the beltway," according to Markos. 3% of IA GOBP residents participate in the caucuses? And, THEY get the first say in who the nominee is?! WHAT THE SPARK??!! The biggest accomplishment of the Occupy efforts is that they have persisted & have forced a "response" from "media" & politicos.
#3 "The People's Champion" AKA "Power from the Past" - John Carlos was 1 of the "black power" Olympic athletes in 1968. He visited Occupy Wall Streeters last night & is talking to Keith tonight. Most of the protestors last night knew who Mr. Carlos was.
"Time Marches On!" - HEY! Keith got into my diary draft again - THIEF! Oh well, I'll accept free Countdown swag in return; yea, I'm also not holding my breath for it. President Chavez is trying to rap or dance or something. A turkey is chasing people in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday; he's probably trying to get away from $aint $arah from Wasilla. We ALL REMEMBER what happens to turkeys she pardons, yes? ;) BEARS!!
WPITW - A "super hero" guy in Seattle maced someone he shouldn't have maced - OOPS! Senators McCentury & Bailey - Hutchison tried to introduce more corporate tax holiday legislation to "save jobs." The Camden County GA commissioner wants to use inmates as firemen. Yea, that'll work out GREAT!
#1 "Recall to Action" - Efforts to recall Governor Scotty of Fitzwalkerstan are well underway & are nicely funded to boot at this stage; however, cynical little 'ol me just can't get too excited yet. Didn't recall efforts for the MI Governor who's made that state a slice of just south of heaven fall through? Kochtopus money can go a long way, baby. The recall efforts officially begin November 15; all appropriate signatures must be received in January. Governor Scotty's chief of staff has already resigned?! Golly! State Senator Jon Erpenbach is back to talk recall. He thinks getting enough signatures will be easy peasy; well, he kind of has to say that. The actual recall vote could be April 2012. Senator Erpenbach fully expects the Governator to pull out & try any dirty tricks at his disposal. However, he doesn't think Governor Scotty can buy his way out of this $hit. I wish I could be as confident. Dems have to have a candidate on the ballot in the recall; Senator Erpenbach's been mentioned. :)
