In a beautiful reversal of fortunes from the 2009 Wake County, NC School Board elections, the people of Raleigh / Cary and greater Wake County turned out and elected 4 new Democratic School Board members. Not only that, but they also took down long time conservative board chairman Ron Margiotta! The dismantling of the Nationally recognized and applauded Wake County diversity plan will now slow and begin some reversal as well. One race has yet to be finalized, between the Democratic candidate and incumbent Kevin Hill and Republican challenger Heather Losurdo, which will be decided by a run off election next month. The winner will break the tie that now exists between Dem's and Tea Bags at four members each. Kevin Hill lead with 49% of the vote, but the multiple candidates vote totals didn't allow him to hit the 50% mark needed to avoid a runoff.
This is a great day for the families and children of Wake County! A tip of my hat to all the people that worked so hard to kick Tea Chairman Margiotta out of that position! Cut off the head of the snake and all that!!!
Seems there was some serious Tea Bag buyers remorse. Let's hope we keep seeing that nationwide!

Kevin Hill for Wake County Board of Education
11:01 AM PT: A big thumbs up to 48forEastAfrica for linking to this video of Heather Losurdo, the Tea Party candidate opposing Kevin Hill for the North Raleigh seat on the Board of Education.
If you want to read more about Heather and her issues, please follow the link above entitled Wake, Raleigh election results a stunning repudiation of Republicans' tea-party politics. It's quite eye opening. Also another good reason to send Kevin Hill a few quid to make sure diversity reigns supreme here, and with this very repudiation of tea-party politics, hopefully throughout our Nation.
