The DNC and other powerful Democrats appear to have decided that the Fast and Furious scandal wont go away, but will be used to rip into the already weak in the polls Obama. It's been a long time coming, but in light of this, the GOP would like nothing better than to see Obama win the nomination in 2012. If Obama wont refuse to run of his own volition, then the DNC, who put him in power, will find a way to make sure he doesn't run some other way. The Fast and Furious scandal is about to get a fuel injection from Obama's own party leaders. He's done.
Democrats in power obviously want to hang onto power. Polls among likely voters have shown that Republican voters are more eager to go vote in the 2012 elections, while Democrats are far from worked up over Obama, who has had a lackluster term as president, and failed to live up to the hype that brought Democrats to the polls in droves.
If Democrats just don't show up for the elections, we could be facing a nation wide GOP sweep of public offices. If Republicans are already more willing to take the time and trouble to vote when they have yet to choose a candidate, where does that leave Democrats, most of which, going by Obama's poor approval ratings in the polls, would go vote not out of the sort of excitement over their candidate like in the 2008 elections, but just to block any Republican presidential candidate. There is just a lack of any sort of real excitement over Obama running again among most Americans, including the same Democrats who supported and campaigned for Obama such a short time ago.
Obama has not been able to rise above about 40% in the polls for months now. No presidential candidate with such low polling numbers has ever been elected before. There are many former Obama supporters who feel betrayed by Obama, and with more than one scandal looming, his chances for winning another term are looking weaker all the time. He may have his hardcore supporters, but they will not be enough to give him another term.
Now this.
