This morning I arrived at the camp at a little after 6am for my morning sign vigil in front of the Embarcadero Station. I arrived just in time to see the man we refer to as Jesus laying in the street sleeping. The street sweepers came by, went around him, and paused, on their radio. Not more than 3 minutes after the Street Sweepers went by the SFPD arrived on site, woke 'Jesus' up. He was starled, jumped up and ran into the iddle of the street. 2 officers from the SFPD ran after him, and one got in front of him, Pepper Sprayed him. 'Jesus' fell to the ground, hands on his face, and the 2 cops start to wail on him with their nigt sticks! They then dragged him across the street, I tried to cross to get his name and give him the legal number, but the cop stopped me from doing so. 'Jesus' was loaded into a police sedan and taken away.
I have video of the incident, and have provided the video to KGO News (Channel 7). I also gave an interiew to them explaining what I saw at the camp this morning! I will be uploading the video to YouTube.
