As per the @occupywallstreet website today.
A group claiming to be affiliated with the General Assembly of Liberty Square and #ows has been speaking to the media on behalf of our movement.
This group is not empowered by the NYC General Assembly.
This group is not open-source and does not act by consensus.
This group only represents themselves.
While we encourage the participation of autonomous working groups, no single person or group has the authority to make demands on behalf of general assemblies around the world.
We are our demands. This #ows movement is about empowering communities to form their own general assemblies, to fight back against the tyranny of the 1%. Our collective struggles cannot be co-opted.
According to the media these are the demands
The plan would involve the federal government raising about $1.5 trillion in new revenue and using it to create 25 million new public-sector jobs paying union-level wages. It would put Americans to work building bridges, roads, and affordable housing; providing free public transportation and free university education for all; staffing a single-payer health care system; and pursuing clean-energy research.
From the UN declaration of basic human rights:
Article 25.
(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
(2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

To have a platform with which to demand national health care and not make that demand is immoral. If it where 1960 would you refuse to endorse the civil rights act because the movement has no demands? If it were 1860 would you refuse to condemn slavery because the movement has no demands?
How can you say that a movement without demands is more important than doing everything possible to secure healthcare for my family and community? Not to demand a basic human right in exchange for political influence is to engage in the same trade that #occupywallstreet claims to condemn. If polled, it may be the will of the people that the occupy movement risk what it has gained if it moves them closer to gaining universal healthcare. You can not claim my voice without asking me first.
Bring the proposal to a vote in the general assembly on a Saturday. Give us a weeks warning beforehand. Let us see if the people assembled will state demands.
