We saw some amazing news last week from Eclectablog about the Michigan Supreme Court restarting the recall against Republican Rep. Paul Scott.
But it seems like Paul Scott has another trick up his sleeve.
In a case of projection so clear, you'd think Karl Rove was advising this state representative - Scott is now claiming that he wants the recall to go forward, but on February 28, as the process is now "tainted". As such, he has filed an emergency petition with the Michigan Supreme Court.
"The main purpose (for the motion is) we feel everybody should have the right to vote who wants to vote. And we don’t think that can take place right now," Scott said. "In general, at a minimum there is some confusion. ... We want the recall to go forward. Now we have the question of disenfranchised voters. And that’s something that should never happen."
It sounds noble, unless you dig just immediately below the surface and realize that February's voter turnout will be half of what we'll see in November, at best, and why?
Because February 28 is when the Republican primary will take place in Michigan, guaranteeing a heavy Republican and light Democratic turnout.
The heavily-Republican Michigan Supreme Court smacked down this craven liar once. Can we count on them to do it twice?
Or will a delay of justice lead to an ultimate denial of justice?
