Okay so I am going to just put this out there and see if there is any interest.

I have been looking for a way to support the Occupy DC (the biggest occupation in my area) but have been hard pressed to think of something. The problem is, no money.

But I had an idea and if it gets enough support I will start right away. I do a weekly post here called Sunday Bread. Every week I bake and share the recipe for a different loaf of bread. I am skilled in making large volumes of bead in a short period so I came up with this idea:

Would any Kossacks like to help me send bread to the Occupy DC folks?

Here is how it would work. I can bake and transport fresh French bread down to the Occupy DC folks for 2.50 per two loaf batch, or 1.25 per loaf. I am willing to make and bring as much bread as folks are willing to pay for.

You would send money to my Paypal account.

I would then bake the bread and schlep it down to the protest and give it away.

I would also keep everyone posted on how much was donated through the account and how much bread was given away through diaries here at Kos.

You’d be donating the money for ingredients and transport; I’d be donating my time and the cost of the electricity for baking.

And the protestors would get lots of fresh French bread to eat while they carry the message to the 1% that we are not going to believe that we are all in this alone, that we know that we are stronger than they are when we act together.

So, Kossacks what do you think? $23 would start this thing with 10 loaves delivered to the protest as soon as tomorrow.

If you are interested, let me know through a message here on the site and I’ll get back to you with the Paypal account info.

The floor is yours

Update: How cool are all of you? We already have money for 142 loaves! That means we'll have at least 4 separate deliveries of bread and this thing has only been going on for an hour or so!

Again any amount will be accepted and it is 2.50 per two loaf batch!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
