Here at Top Comments we strive to nourish community by rounding up some of the site's best, funniest, most mojo'd and most informative commentary. We depend on your help with talent spotting. If you see a comment by another Kossack that deserves wider recognition, please send it to topcomments at gmail by 9:30pm Eastern. Please please please include a few words about why you sent it in as well as your user name (even if you think we know it already :-)), so we can credit you with the find!
NOTE: Bowing to that newfangled DK4 stuff :-), you also may send nominations to the Top Comments group email. If you don't see a nomination you made to there in the diary, please pipe up - it means we're still trying to remember not to forget to check!
I folded laundry today.
Oh shit, didn't brillig do a laundry TC already??!
Never fear... follow me below the dingledoodlesquiggliedividerthingie fold...
A laundry basketful of underwear, for four people. I know what you're likely thinking... how many pairs do they each HAVE??! Well, I thought about that too, so I did a rough count, taking the opportunity to toss a few, how to say... well-worn items. Suffice it to say Casa Brillig doesn't venture into commando-land unless we don't do laundry for a month. (Umm, for the record. We do. Just sayin...)
This got me thinking about the items I assume people have lots of: socks, underwear, T-shirts, sheets, towels. Then, because it's what I do, I wondered whether everybody else actually DOES have 'lots' of these. So, my dear Top Comments reader, what's in your laundry basket?
Casa brillig stacks up as follows:
Socks: we all have WAY too many socks. Plain white gym socks (anklet AND crew, tyvm). Black socks/colored socks, depending on which of us you're asking. This doesn't include the seasonal warm winter socks and light summer socks. Socks need washing with the same frequency underwear does, for reference :-).
Underwear: see above. I have NO idea why we have this many. I think possibly they're bought when we know we have old pairs ready to toss, then we don't toss em. sigh.
T-shirts: We all are collectors of fine T-shirts. NN, concerts, places we've been, solid colors. K1 has many, many swim-related shirts.
Sheets: THIS is the category I'm most wondering about. I've got multiple sets for each of the beds, several cotton then several more flannels for winter. I have friends who have "the set on the bed, and the other set."
Towels: Two varieties, bath and swim. The former we've got at least a dozen, same goes for swim (on a 2-day meet weekend we go through at least 4).
So - you gonna sign me up for an episode of Hoarders, or do you like the idea of NOT having days-of-the-week undies plus a spare for wash day? Share in the comments!

Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.

In Horace Boothroyd III's Chemical Bomb Thrown into Occupy Maine Encampment, G2geek both reminds me of a term and starts a great thread doing so.
Setup goes to ontheleftcoast. Return is by glutz78. Volley continues for a bit, so read the whole thread :).
