Recapping yesterday's action:
The House passed its slate of seven suspension bills without incident yesterday, none of which were particularly remarkable, with the possible exception of H.R. 2594, the "European Union Emissions Trading Scheme Prohibition Act." And it's only worth remarking on because it's a grumbling attack on European efforts to actually maybe help the environment, and you know the Republicans can't abide that.
Looking ahead to today:
More suspension activity today, but just three bills, for the most part equally unremarkable. That, and the passage of a rule for a land swap bill to be voted on tomorrow.
You can see the jobs fairly falling out of the sky, no?
Well, I feel like the lameness of the Congress has ripped you off as readers, in terms of having learned anything useful today. So I'd like to make it up to you by sharing this Main Street Insider 90 Second Summary of Herman "Herb" Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan.
Hope you enjoyed that, and now feel fulfilled!
Today's floor and committee schedules appear below the fold.
