Ah, the comedy hits keep on coming. More of this, please.
If there were one thing that gives me as much hope as fear, it's this one. Hope, because it's so damn ridiculous that people will be turned off and vote Democratic. Fear, because people are DUMB.
Today we are treated to a double dose of the crazy known as birtherism. And as a bonus, DONALD TRUMP--yes, THAT Donald Trump--gets in a surprisingly perceptive analysis of the Republican Primary Voter.
First, to the High Queen of Crazy herself. Lawyer, Dentist, and Black Belt Orly Taitz has officially filed papers to run against Diane Feinstein for United States Senate in California.
Run, Orly, Run!
Orly addresses her chances:
“I think I do have a chance specifically because I do speak Spanish and I speak Hebrew,” Taitz told the Sacramento Bee following a town hall event on Latino issues at the California Republican Party convention.
...OK...she speaks Spanish and Hebrew. You can make your own jokes in the comments.
Of course, we all know the main reason she's running. From TPM:
A Senate run, Taitz said would “give me a platform to talk about the issues that corrupt establishment… are refusing to talk about.”
Taitz is still clinging to the false theory that President Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii. After Obama released his long-form birth certificate in April, Taitz told TPM that the certificate could be fake because it said his father’s race was “African” and not “Negro.”
So again, more of this, please.
Which brings us to The Donald. The Combover went on Piers Morgan last night and gave us this bit of wisdom:
Here's the thing. He can't bring himself to say the birth certificate is real. He brings up "the Internet" as a place where there's a lot of different information out there. Then he talks about "did anyone see it" and saying that there was more than one baby born that day in that hospital. Pure comedy gold, I sez.
But then he gives the best political analysis of the Republican Primary Voter and how they differ from the rest of us:
"Well I think it's good for him in the Republican Primary. I don't necessarily know if it's good for him in the General Election"
And THAT, my friends, is why I get very hopeful about the President's re-election chances.
And also why it terrifies me.
