Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA)
Darrell Issa keeps on
getting caught with his pants
down over his Solyndra scandalmongering.
The latest example:
Congressman Darrell Issa may be investigating Solyndra LLC and its federal green-energy aid, but he cooperated with the company’s lead lobbyist Wednesday on one thing — supporting Mitt Romney for president.
Issa’s name was listed as a draw on invitations to a breakfast fundraiser for Romney’s campaign. The event was hosted by a group of lobbyists, including a leading political representative for Solyndra.
As a co-host of the event, the lobbyist was tasked with raising $10,000, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune's report.
Meanwhile, Romney has been every bit as hypocritical as Issa. Despite asking the Solyndra lobbyist to raise money for his campaign, Romney has falsely accused President Obama of accepting cash from a Solyndra investor. And beyond Solyndra, Romney has been saying that he believes government support for green energy companies represents "cronyism" and "invites corruption." The problem? Back when he was governor of Massachusetts, he signed into law a program to do just that.
