Just thought you'd like to know that though it's not advertised on the web site, the train from Savannah to DC and beyond has Wifi in the cafe car.
Well, actually, the train staff says it's everywhere on the train, but it comes in and out.
The ticket for old people like me from Georgia to Boston is $106 and takes 24 hours with two hours in D.C. I'll see if that's enough time to check out OccupyDC.
While I didn't know about the WiFi, I was reading about Authoritarians. You can download the book in pdf format, by Bob Altemeyer for free. Although published in 2006, it's still timely. Though, there's quite a bit with which I disagree. I've compiled a couple of pages of notes and I'm only through Chapter One.
Altemeyer is a sociologist so he thinks everything's society's fault.
Not fair, you say? Read it for yourself.

Oh, and there's a new menu including Panini and fresh salads. Also, Deli wraps and beer.
10:28 PM PT: Update from the Garden State:
Turns out quite a few routes now have WiFi on the whole train, although the service is somewhat spotty and streaming isn't enabled.
Two hours in D.C. wasn't enough to eat and go exploring in D.C. at night. One problem with more passengers and longer trains is that it takes longer to walk to the station. LOL
When the trains are loaded, old folks and people with children get to go through the gates first (cause we dawdle).
The conductors are all very polite and helpful. One young fellow was overheard on his cell to his folks explaining how he'd "lost" his wallet in a friend's house and didn't have any money. His seat-mate gave him $20 and another passenger gave him a ten spot and told him to "pay it forward." I do think there's a new spirit in the land.
