Ive been watching the Conrad Murray trial for several reasons but most of all because I have a personal connection to the case: The day Michael Jackson died, I had an almost fatal heart attack. If my wife hadn't shoved me in the car and gotten me to help I'd be dead now. No exaggeration in that at all.
So I watched the whole Michael Jackson Dead Weekend Extravaganza from a bed in the ICU. I walked away from that later, Michael Jackson didn't. Like the sig says, I'm happy just to be alive
I think Michael Jackson was killed by his own money---if it had been you or me, someone would have gotten us into rehab a long while ago. But his money meant that no one had to tell him the truth, no one would say no to him. His money meant he could have anythng he wanted. And what he wanted killed him.
That someone would have a whole anesthesia set up in their own house SO THAT THEY COULD GET TO SLEEP is a ridiculous situation. Someone should have told him he needed to be hospitalized and who better to say that than his doctor? Obviously Dr. Murray didn't.
I'm not sure that what Murray did or didn't do amounted to murder, even involuntary manslaughter. But it really looks a whole lot like criminal negligence, like leaving Jackson unattended, never keeping records and indeed getting a propofol setup for Jackson in the first place. Murray said he was "trying to wean Jackson off Propofol" but there was 4 gallons of propofol there.
Murray's main defense for the propofol is that its what Jackson wanted. There's the money talking:Rich people should have whatever they want. But Murray should have said no to him aand demanded he be hospitalized, instead of continuing his addiction to propofol.
Murray himself is coming off as a real sleazball here, IMHO, addicted to money and being close to fame but thats not grounds for a murder conviction. There was no intention here. It is grounds for yanking his license and getting his ass handed to him in a civil suit, tho. We chall see
So whats your opinion here? Murray---champ or chump?
