More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

teabaggers, The Tea Party is Over and so are the phony meme's of the label of 'grassroots' everybody still keeps trying to label you with!

This is reall grassroots and like many others before, and will continue to be, is built from the bottom up and those involved take activism and advocacy to their area's of concern from the mass movement which embraces it all!!

about the decline in public education in my home town. I am a "Sputnik" kid - i.e. the satellite went up and suddenly those of us in Dixon High School were under the gun to smarten up, book it, and improve our test scores or we would be left by the wayside. Most of us got on board fearing that we wouldn't get into college if we didn't.

30 years later I was talking to the president of the local teachers union. I bemoaned the extremely short school day wondering how kids could learn anything with so few hours of classroom time. She wised me up fast.

The school boad made a deliberate decision to educate kids well enough through high school to work minimum wage jobs. If parents want their kids to be able to go to college, then they have to send them to college prep classes after school hours or in the evenings. The classes were taught at the junior college.

Did she like it? Not one bit. Her own daughters - both beautiful and very smart - never completed college.

A TOP QUALITY Public Education is what we need. That's what Dr. Jill Biden's goal is. The kids at OWS Portland really don't know what that is, but deep down, they know they aren't getting it.

Bring them all home NOW. There is no longer any excuse.
