Please join Missy's Brother and the Daily Kos garden community at Frankenoid's SMGB (Saturday Morning Garden Blog) this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. EST for a question and answer session with Margaret Roach . Margaret has been an editor at the New York Times, Newsday and Martha Stewart Living. While at Newsday, Margaret had been both the garden and fashion editor. At Martha Stewart, she started as the first garden editor but eventually became the editorial director of the entire Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia empire which she walked away from in December 2007.
Margaret's passion has always been gardening with her book "A Way to Garden" in 1998 being named Best Garden Book of the Year by Garden Writers Association of America.
This year Margaret published the very successful book "And I Shall Have Some Peace There".

IN DECEMBER 2007, I made the life-altering decision to walk away from New York City and my job as Editorial Director of Martha Stewart, a career many would describe as highly successful. But I craved completely different rewards: solitude, a return to the personal creativity of writing, and a closer connection to nature and my first passion, the garden I'd been making on weekends for 20 years. I moved to a rural New York State town of 300, began AWayToGarden.com (called “the best garden blog” by the New York Times and named for my prize-winning 1989 book), and wrote the dropout memoir “And I Shall Have Some Peace There” (February 2011). Today, I lecture and teach about what I call “horticultural how-to and woo-woo,” and help clients create websites on the WordPress platform.
Margaret's highly successful blog A Way To Garden was called “the best garden blog” by the New York Times.
Frankenoid has been the editor of Saturday Morning Garden Blog for quite a few years (almost seven??) and just this year began taking a well deserved Saturday off each month. I'm taking her place this Saturday so to show my appreciation, I will be giving away one signed copy of Margaret's book "And I Shall Have Some Peace There'. I will draw a name from the users who have recommended the diary during the first day and will contact the winner on Sunday.
We would be thrilled to have you join us this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. EST for a question and answer session with Ms. Roach.
