So based on these numbers, it looks as though we may have hit Peak Cain and are now witnessing Rise of the Newt. And these numbers probably aren't a fluke: PPP says they'll have a survey out this afternoon showing Newt Gingrich in the top spot, moving ahead of Herman Cain.
Among Republicans, Newt Gingrich had the highest net favorable rating, followed by Mitt Romney:

The best news in the poll for Romney is that CNN shows him leading President Obama among registered voters by four points—51%-47%. President Obama leads all other Republicans tested, including Newt Gingrich (53%-45%), Herman Cain (53%-43%), and Rick Perry (52%-45%).
9:35 AM PT: Just like in October, 61% of Republicans say they could change their mind—just 31% are committed. (Don't even ask about the other 8%...)
9:39 AM PT: 57% of men think the Cain sexual harassment story has been overblown. 61% of women think it's a serious issue. And overall, 50% of Americans believe the women who made the charges—just 33% believe Cain (43% of men believe Cain while 24% of women do).
9:40 AM PT: 53% of Republicans believe Cain—just 38% believe the women. 49% of independents believe the women, just 31% believe Cain.
9:41 AM PT: Ha! 29% of teabaggers believe the women. 64% believe Cain.
9:41 AM PT: And a majority of everybody but tea party supporters believe Herman Cain should withdraw from the race.
