First, I want to apologize for the concern troll title... but my sentiment is sincere.
Even though I think CVH is one of the 'good guys' in the House, being on the right side (meaning the Left side) of the issues, I'm faced with a put-up-or-shut-up situation.
You see, since I learned what the "Super Congress" has, or more accurately hasn't achieved, I've been saying "ALL of these committee members need to face primary challenges." And it just so happens that last month I moved into Maryland's 8 Congressional district.
On the one hand I feel strongly that this Super Congress has failed, which means that all of its members have failed. This committee was tasked with reaching a consensus - and it appears as though they have reached a consensus.
Just like the film 12 Angry Men, a lone dissenter ought to stand up forcefully and persuade the others that they are wrong. A lone dissenter ought to be able to read the writing on the wall as clearly as the dkos front pagers. A lone dissenter ought to come out of that committee ready to give a press conference denouncing the other 11.
And none of that has happened. It makes me even more furious than I already was, knowing that CVH is at least an enabler of the do-nothing consensus, if not an outright supporter of the idea.
Even though he'll probably skate by a primary challenger I'm ready to go to bat for whoever is willing to take that challenge. It's the principle of the thing, and this Congress needs to learn that voters are just as concerned with principles as they are with results.
So this diary is a trial balloon searching for a wide opinion. What do you think?
