I like that word: duty. It's calling on us. Rarely in history do confluence of events align in such a way as to create the conditions for iconic revolutionary movements. It's here now, and because of it, we the people have the duty to rise up to the occasion.
Before I proceed, let me address the typical middle class reader, which throughout the ages sometimes represents the biggest obstacle to ending brutal tyranny and oppression: Normal is no more. You can't expect to go on as if nothing is happening. You may want to try to hide your head in the sand (hold on to the job, status, home, stability, while looking the other way), but it will be in vain. You have to understand and accept that the social contract meant to keep a society functioning properly has been broken by a cabal of criminal plutocrats in the form of an alliance between a fascistic corporatist cabal and sycophantic, greedy, money-grabbing, corrupt politicians all across the country.
Therefore, I ask you, my typical middle class member, to either join and support the revolution, or get out of the way and let those who have answered the call of duty, stand up against this brutal tyranny, defeat it, and help restore the rule of law, and economic and social justice.
What is happening? In the past I've written about how, if I close my eyes and try to envision what was happening, I could imagine a fascist machinery being locked into place, and as all its parts came together, I could hear the clink and clank, and the mechanical swirling noises of said machinery as it comes into being. For far too long, I was perplexed as to why the entire society was letting this happened, as if people were asleep, in a daze.
But alas, yes the people were sleeping, but now they (we) have awakened, just in time to stop the fascist machine from completing its assembly.
Let there be no doubt that the cause is just. Our entire governmental structure has been infected by endemic corruption, from the federal level, to the states, counties, and cities, across the country.
Corporatism took over. Its influence helps it accumulate wealth and power. It uses that wealth and power to pay off members of the political power structure across the country. So we ended up with some sort of socioeconomic pyramid whereas a tiny group at the top brutally oppresses and exploits the population.
It's a criminal system; it's extremely oppressive and violent; it is fascistic. And it will be stopped, defeated, dismantled, and the criminals within it will made to pay for their crimes.
Occupiers, have no doubt that that's the situation you are confronting. It is very important that this be accepted and conceptualized, since once any citizen understands this reality, then morality, and ethics demands that such citizen stand up against the criminality.
And for the fearful reader, who may ask, what is the aim of the revolution, the answer is not really that complicated: Restoring the rule of law; respect of the United States Constitution; removing the dirty, disgusting hands and boots of the plutocratic kleptocracy off of our necks. It's quite simple, actually.
Occupiers, you have been extremely successful thus far. You have forced the system to pay attention. And now members of the plutocracy are starting to get fearful, as they realize that people have awakened.
For example, think about this headline in today's San Francisco Chronicle's front page: "UC regents fear clashes, cancel meeting."
These criminals, as they collude with their paymasters to impose back-breaking tuition increases on students and their families, and as they give themselves incredibly lucrative pay increases, are now fearful.
As the article reports, many of these regents have ties to banks: "Monica Lozano serves on the board of Bank of America, Dick Blum is head of Blum Capital Partners, Leslie Tang Schilling is an adviser at the Union Square Investment Company and Paul Wachter is CEO of Main Street Advisors."
Of course, this is a microcosm of a situation that's replicated all across the country, as people who are supposed to be public servants, looking after the community, are instead lining their pockets with corporate money, and enjoying a increasingly vulgar higher level of privilege, the public be damned. Well, no more. Game over.
The young people, and those brutalized by the system, the unemployed, the homeless, those who have been foreclosed on (with the use of fraudulent robo-signed documents by banks), and brave middle class members are the foot-soldiers of this revolution that is just starting.
People who are not able to participate on the ground, can consider helping the revolution in multiple other ways: donations (money, clothing, shelter, food, services).
As the police-cum-brutal-corporate-goons tear down the tents, and encampments, tactics must change, rapidly. They can't tear down an idea; they can't tear down the expectation that each one of us have of living in a just and fair society, that respects the rule of law, and the United States Constitution.
And speaking of the rule of law, when injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. Message to scum, corrupt money-grabbing greedy public officials: Just because you are in a position to enact self-serving laws to line yours' and your family's and friends' pockets, doesn't mean you'll be able to get away with it. No more. Time's up. Game over.
Brothers and sisters of the revolution, it's time to escalate. Do not think for a minute that your oppressors will be moved by your pain, suffering, by the injustices. They will not. They don't give a shit. They are incapable of even realizing what they're doing. It's always the same with tyranny.
Don't count on them to do the right thing. They will have to be removed, one way or another. Plan on that.
Next tactics (suggestion)... Stop the machine. Coordinate a relentless wave of huge flash-mob protests in critical financial and government centers across the country. Plan it well. Imagine... Seattle, people are dispersed near the protest site; some are at coffee houses; some at parks; some on their way on public transportation. The facilitators then post the command, "Occupy" and all of the sudden two thousand people appear and occupy the city center, shutting it down.
When police arrives, people hold their ground as much as possible, and then disperse (trying to avoid any arrests). When the police leaves, we're back, and back again, and back again. Do it in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Miami.
Target meetings by the oligarchs (high-priced political fundraising); be there, every time. Target meetings by bankers (anywhere they are). Target super-rich neighborhoods and bring the protests there....
We are so powerful! Let's match the rhetoric of "being the 99%" with an actual show of power. Yes, these scumbags should be rattled, and as the cowards they are, they should start canceling meetings, and bribery-in-plain-sight events (high-priced political fundraising).
It's time to escalate (peacefully still) now. Let's get with it....
