Many people in the blogosphere have been propagating a false story about how the OWS evictions were coordinated by the FBI and Homeland Security. This rumor is based on a story on a right wing website called examiner.com. This website and its owner are nothing but right wing shills.
Let's take a look at this website and its billionaire owner Phillip Anschutz below the squiggle.
Most people who are repeating this alleged "story" are citing the Minnesota Examiner as the source.
There is no Minnesota Examiner. Examiner.com is based in Denver and purports to be a newspaper in 238 cities. While it is designed to look like a real paper, it is a right-wing blog owned by Phillip Anschutz, a right wing billionaire, who also owns The Weekly Standard.
Here is a little background on Anschutz from Wikipedia:
Political and Christian activism
Often identified as "Christian billionaire Phil Anschutz", he is a Republican donor who supported George W. Bush's administration. He has been an active patron of a number of religious and conservative causes:
Helped fund Colorado's 1992 Amendment 2, a ballot initiative designed to overturn local and state laws that prohibit discrimination against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation but was invalidated by Romer v. Evans after it passed.
Helped fund the Discovery Institute, a think tank based in Seattle, Washington that promotes intelligent design and criticizes evolution.
Supported the Parents Television Council, a group that protests against television indecency.
Financed and distributed films with Christian themes, such as Amazing Grace and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for mass audiences through his two film production companies and ownership of much of the Regal, Edwards and United Artists theater chains.
Financed The Foundation for a Better Life.
In 2009 Anschutz purchased the conservative American opinion magazine The Weekly Standard from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.
Philip Anschutz and fellow board members of the American Petroleum Institute in Washington are credited by Bush's energy secretary for the Oval Office decision to kill the Kyoto Protocol in 2001.
Rick Ellis is no journalist. He is a blogger who gets paid based on how many page views his stories receive. (Thanks to Michael Moore, he hit the jackpot on this one,) Although since Anschutz pays as little as a penny per page view, Ellis ain't getting rich.
Ellis is a right wing propagandist. Unfortunately, many people on the Left, like Michael Moore are so afflicted with Obama Derangement syndrome that they repeat this bullshit without investigating the source.
It strains credulity to believe that some high DOJ official sought out this blogger to reveal this gigantic conspiracy.
