You know I love you guys. We are member of this Kos Family. And you're right. There is a lot of work to do. But where do we go from here? Don't we have to disrupt things as well as protest? I have no answers, but I think or have a feeling that greater risks might need to be taken to push back the line in the sand drawn by the 1%.
If you haven't, you have to listen to FDRs speech in this video.
What we have today is the same old shit, different century.
"The price of freedom is death" Black Panthers
I know, too strong, and whispers violence.
But how many died when Gandhi lead the resistence to British hegemony? Hell, Gandhi died.
How many died in the struggle to improve labor conditions?
How many died to end segregation? To change the laws in the Civil Rights movement?
Peaceful resistence means resisting. That is the next step, imo. Call me radical, but until we becoming willing to put it all on the line, the line will continue to oppress us, press us up against the wall. And if we wait for that moment, there will be those, not of our ilk, who will resort to violence.
Peaceful impoliteness might not be enough, as those who control the line in the sand will relentlessly move that line as if we don't even exist, just like they have for almost 100 years.
For example: We're opening another Marine base in Australia! Is this what the people asked for?
The most vulnerable in this country are about to have their Social Safety Nets weakened even more.
1% of our fellow citizens are in prison. The highest incarceration rate in the world!
FDR and The Brave People of the 1930s changed this country for the better.
Our present government, under the Milt Friedman philosophy of austerity, is working hard to erase those gains.
It's time to risk it all. As the New Hampshire license plate states, it's time to
I know, stark. I think we can afford, in an exercise of words, to look at this and then look within.
Peace and Courage

Have you been to jail for justice? Then you're a friend of mind.
Peter, of Peter, Paul & Mary, entertained the Occupy Wall Street crowd on October 3, 2011. I recorded it for us.
Violence is already on the rise. Robberies are on the rise. Impoverishing millions of people via lay offs and foreclosures is a recipe for increased crime.
From this year:

Joe Biden Warns Again: Rape, Murder Will Rise Without Jobs Bill
In Flint -- where Biden's remarks have been criticized -- he noted that the police force numbered 265 in 2008 and there were 35 murders and 91 rapes. In 2010, there were 144 cops and the city recorded 65 murders and 229 rapes
I don't know about your area, but crime is rising here in Utah. This man went on a robbery, raping spree from April through November and no one was told about this. There were no warnings that a serial robber/rapist was on the loose for months!
Kearns man charged in string of ATM robberies, sex assaults
Now we have a serial ATM attacker:
In a month’s time, the ATM bandit has used his crowbar to break into seven businesses mainly in Weber County. He may also be responsible for an attempted break at an ATM at the Zions Bank in Layton
Thief targeting ATM's
And this trend is alarming:
List of cases of police brutality in the United States
Our protections under law are being undermined by cut backs to the Justice System
As States Cut Court Budgets, Who Pays The Price?
It's pretty easy to screw over a poor person who can't afford recourse in court and/or would have to wait to get justice.
Case in point: My friend, single mother, had her deposit kept and "damages" garnished from her paycheck. Bogus; however, what was her recourse. Her employer is a tyrant so she couldn't get time off to spend a day in court in the off chance the case came up. She is almost neurotic about having a clean house and there was not damage done to the apartment. But the Corporation running the apartment complex stole her money and even garnished her wages for bogus "damages.
Well, there are millions of these cases.
So, how many more people will be brutalized by police, harmed by a criminal spate fueled by desperation, victims of rapes, and denied recourse in our ever-shrinking Justice system?
What will we resist collectively?
How can we stop the aggressive takeover by the 1%?
What do we have to do next?
