This will be my second not really eyewitness diary, a lot has been going on, but I've been on the edge of a virus all weekend so I've only taken food. I knew we were going to help another homeowner on Sat.
exciting stuff I missed out on below the squiggle
While I was cooking vegan chili and trying to figure out whether it was most needed at the Plaza, foreclosure #1 or foreclosure #2, I saw this unfolding at foreclosure #2 on the livestream. (nabbed these pics from fellow Kossack April Lukes-Streich's FB album)
It seems someone, possibly a realtor, reported a burglary. I am still not quite clear on why only one person got arrested for this charge, I think it may be that he refused to get out when the police first arrived, and it was interesting that later the local news said authorities would not give reasons for the arrests. The 2nd arrest was supposedly for obstructing justice, you can see this one for yourself.
My understanding is that he was trying to ask a question.
Some supporters were able to respond to the tweet for more help, so a human chain was then formed around the house.
Then the police seemed to abandon their plan to board up the house, so the Occupiers re-occupied it and had the evening General Assembly there. It seems there was some genuine doubt as to who owns the house at this point. Unfortunately , the cops returned this afternoon and cleared the house, no warrant but did not arrest anyone either. The 2 arrested last night had bail set at $300 each.

There were also some questionable trespasses at the original site, the People's Plaza, last night.
While our local law enforcement has been generally respectful and non-violent toward our movement, it's become apparent that having them on our side doesn't mean that forces beyond our jurisdiction are equally as willing to protect our First Amendment rights. The fight to defend our own Constitutional Right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances remains one we must continue to fight vigilantly.
