It's that time of year again and I will NOT be participating. I did for the first and probably last time-last year. See, I wanted a flat screen TV, for about 2-3 years, considering we had our 32" Hitachi for about 15-years that we had purchased when I was stationed in Germany circa 1995-1998. It still worked, albeit with some discoloring ever since that one time I dropped it when I was ever so slightly drunk and thought it was a good idea to move it in 1999.
Anyway, I had long wanted to join the rest of the world with a flat screen for the past couple of years, but held off until prices were somewhat reasonable and we paid off other debts. Finally, last year, we planned for the day, arrived what we thought was early enough at Offutt AFB and managed to get the last ticket for a 52" plasma 3D in addition to a 46" Sony LED. Only later did I realize that the whole 3D TV was one of the worst deals of 2010 (which rang true considering we've only ever watched 2 movies on it)-oh well, it was still big and works well in my man cave now. I also got a 42"er the next day.
But I won't be doing that again until we have enough $$$ to buy the Samsung refrigerator that my wife wants. We looked through all the local ads tonight and there are a few things I would like, such as a chainsaw, keyboard, Angry birds pajamas and some other minor items, but nothing that makes me want to go stand in line at 12-6AM.
You?
