There were these people who went to a Governor Brownback sponsored event in Wichita, Kansas and five cops rushed in and beat down an 61 year old woman.

The woman is a native American woman who doesn't have the funds to be laid up in the hospital, and her husband has been laid off...  Her handicapped child is going to be experiencing difficulties since she is laid up...

Here's an excerpt from the article;

When the protesters were finished, they walked peacefully out of the room but not before some four to five police officers came rushing in as if terrorists were on the loose. I was sitting at a table near the entrance and I was alarmed over how serious and determined the police seemed to be as they came into the room. As one officer passed my table, I heard him say something about finding the ringleader or getting the leader. I never imagined these officers would be so brutal in their treatment to one protester in particular.

Please read the article and forward it if you have the time... It seems the only thing the Governor is being blasted for is for picking on an 18 year old Prairie Village, Kansas high school student for texting, "Brownback Blowsalot." The story of protesters getting violently beat down in Wichita, Kansas didn't even make the local evening news.

Anyway, I thought I would post this and lat at least another person know... keeping it in the spirit of the Internet.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
